LoI Verein datenintensive Radioastronomie
GLOW members and partners strive for establishing an association for radio astronomy which has to deal with huge amounts of data, in particular the SKA. Interested institutes may sign a Letter of Intend.
The GLOW SKA working group issues a Bulletin to inform members of the consortium about updates of the SKA project, about the German involvement in the project, and about upcoming related events.
SKA is not only an opportunity for astronomical science, but also a huge technological venture. Our industry flyer showcases statements of German and international industry partners.
SKA Science Book
The SKA Science Case is described in great detail in the SKA Science Book.
German White Book
In 2012 the GLOWSKA initiated the German SKA White Paper that describes and explains the different research interests and applications of scientists in Germany. The German research interests are quite broad ranging from solar physics to cosmology. The diversity of the authors -- ranging from theoreticians via astro-particle physicists to observational astronomers of different specialisation shows also a broad interest of the community. Furthermore, important aspects and technological challenges have been touch upon, e.g. the handling of large amounts of data and technologies in the field of renewable energies.
