High-resolution imaging at very low frequencies requires baselines of many hundreds of kilometers length between the stations of the International LOFAR Telescope (ILT). GLOW provides a substantial part of such baselines through their six  LOFAR stations, which were build in 2007 - 2014:

All stations are connected by dark fiber to the central processing unit in the Netherlands.

Via the Forschungszentrum Jülich, which is the gateway of the german network, GLOW contributes through participation in the LOFAR Long Term Archive also to preserve the scientific heritage of the ILT.
